What does Betafi do? 

Betafi enables companies to proactively uncover quality insights from talking to their customers with a fraction of the effort. Betafi allows teams to quickly get feedback on their ideas, designs, beta software, and websites in-progress. We help ensure you are building the right product for your target customer to avoid rework down the road.

You can use Betafi to conduct user interviews more effectively and usability testing sessions more immersively. As you get on feedback calls with your customers you can take timestamped notes, mark ‘aha moments’ with instant tags and then dig out insights after the calls are complete. Betafi integrates with Figma, Adobe XD, Zoom and Miro.

How does Betafi work? What is a Workspace?

It is your research communion where you can manage various research initiatives. Access in Betafi is managed at the Workspace level. All members within a Workspace can access all the projects and sessions. You can add or remove team members under Workspace settings. Learn more here

What are Projects?

It is the research initiative for which you use Betafi to conduct the research sessions. There are two types of projects on Betafi: Usability Testing and User Interviews.

User Interview: You would want to create a User Interview project when you want to validate your ideas or concept or to better understand your user’s needs to build a product that they will love.

Usability Testing: It is recommended when you want to test your design prototypes or live website to gather usability feedback (like time taken to complete a task, number of clicks etc.) on your designs and workflow.

What are Sessions?

It is the research/feedback/sales call that you conduct with your users for a particular project. Every project will have multiple sessions. 

When you set up a session on Betafi, there are three links provided to you:

  1. Participant link - that you need to share with the participant so they can join the session
  2. Observer link - using which your team members can join the session. These observers need to be part of the workspace
  3. Moderator link - to be used by the person who will be asking questions or testing the prototype with the participant

User Interview - Live Session Experience During the user interview, you can:

  1. Interact with the participant using the video call and chat.

  2. Take timestamped notes to capture user feedback.

  3. Refer to your interview questions right within the Betafi window.

  4. Mark ‘Aha’ moments / key feedback points using instant tags with a single click.

  5. Record the interview after taking the participant’s permission.

You can invite other members of your team to join the session as an observer.

Usability Testing - Live Session Experience During a usability test study, you can:

  1. Interact with the participant using the video call and chat.

  2. Test one or multiple Figma/XD prototypes or live and in-progress websites.

  5. Capture the usability issues by taking timestampped notes or using instant tags.

  • Adobe XD - helps you bring your prototypes for testing with a simple copy-n-paste of the public URL of the prototype

  • Miro - helps you bid goodbye to creating stickies one at a time in Miro as you can export all your notes from Betafi to Miro with a single click. You can also embed Betafi clips into the Miro board.

  • Google Calendar - syncs-up your calendar with upcoming research sessions on Betafi. Learn More

How does the Zoom Integration of Betafi work?

  • With the Betafi <> Zoom integration you can experience the richness of Betafi within the comfort of Zoom. You need a Zoom pro account for this to work. 

  • You can set your project on Betafi, add Questions & Tags, conduct the sessions on Zoom as you normally would. Use the Betafi app within Zoom to add timestamped notes and post call you get an annotated video of the conversion with a transcript on Betafi. 

  • At this time you will need to have a Zoom Pro Account to use Betafi with your Cloud Recordings. The Betafi Zoom App will only sync your timestamped notes with Cloud Recordings, not local recordings.

  • Your Zoom recording should be automatically synced to the Betafi Dashboard after the call. You can access the Betafi Dashboard from the web, or from inside the main Zoom Apps tab!

  • At this time, the Zoom Integration works for User Interviews. You can’t do Usability testing at this moment. If you want to do a Usability Test with a prototype, use the Betafi web experience! Learn More
